Mature rosette to 1.2 metres diameter x 85cms. high. Smoky purple leaves, more scurfed on the reverse. Erect, simply-branched spike to 1.1 metres tall of orange floral bracts and gold flowers. Seed parent was an imported Brazilian red-leaf form. Pollen parent was seed-grown from Oscar Ribeiro, Bromeliaro Imperialis Nursery (Brazil) which turned out greenish-leaved with a few red spots.
