AECHMEA ‘Brown Under’ ? / Hudson B* 2005

Mature rosette to 45cms. diameter x 50cms. high. Brown-spined mid- brown leaves with pronounced silver scurf and wide cross-banding at the base, with narrower banding in the outer leaf portions. Erect spike to 65cms. tall with scarlet scape bracts and yellow branched paddles. This cultivar appears to be a pure Ae. chantinii, suggesting the seed parent self-set, rather than be cross-bred from a foreign pollen donor plant. The seed parent is Ae. chantinii (dark form, #184) imported ex Bird Rock Tropicals, California. Chantinii Group. Reg. Doc. 5/2015 by Bob Hudson.
