Mature rosette to 40cms. diameter x 25cms. high. Mid-green spiny leaves with muted fragmented brownish-green cross-bands on the obverse and black cross-banding on the reverse. Erect spike to 50cms, tall has greenish yellow scape bracts and cream flowers. Appears to have links to Aechmea correia-araujoi--possibly a vegetative sport or hybrid of it. Has been widely established in South Africa for some years. There are conflicting unproven stories of its origin, breeder and parentage. Reg. Doc. 5/2015 by Christo van Wijk.
