AECHMEA ‘Dance Marathon’ | ? / Tate K* | <2000
Mature, open large rosette to 60cms. diameter x 40cms. high. Black-spined, leathery, broad, light green arching leaves with silver cross-banding on the reverse. Erect leaning spike to 60cms. tall of mid-pink peduncle bracts, multi-branched panicle of pink floral bracts and mauve flowers, all of which lasts several months. The quoted parentage seems inaccurate as it doesn't explain the cross-banding present. Breeder and exact origin are unknown, but this cultivar was sold at a tropical foliage sales event at Mount Cotton, Brisbane in 2002. Reg. Doc. 6/2015 by G. Lawn. Country of origin: ?
