Mature, chunky rosette to 40cm. diameter x 30cm. high. Black-spined, broad, semi-glossy green, black-tipped leaves with slight white patches but heavily marbled / mottled predominantly sepia reddish maroon and with dark irregular cross-banding in strong light. The erect, thistle-shaped, red-bracted inflorescence to 40cm high has cream flowers, typical of Aechmea orlandiana, of which this is an intraspecific cross of these 2 registered species cultivars.
