Mature, upright rosette 25 cm high by 23 cm diameter. In strong light, about 20 lime green leaves, each to 5cm. wide, tapering to a point. The erect, thistle-shaped spike has silvery, red bracts and sepals, light red ovaries and purple flowers. The foliage blushes red at blooming time. Offsets form on 5 cm long stolons.
