Mature, semi-bulbous-based rosette to 80cm. diameter x 60cm. high. In strong light, a pink-flushed or red-suffused, striated form of Ae.bracteata, variable with it's stripes and in the tropics can develop dark red blotches. Erect or arching, red -stemmed, red-bracted, branched spike (to 1 metre long) of sprays of green berries which turn black once ripe.
