Mature, open rosette to 25cm. diameter. Glossy maroon, flattish leaves with pink spines. Central growth is green with unusual red cross-bands visible. Foliage reverse is scurfed white with fine red longitudinal lines. Erect slightly-branched spike to 40cm. tall with large bright orange, bell-shaped flowers.
