Mature rosette to 30cm diameter. Thick, wide (at the leaf axils) silvery white, heavily scurfed, arched leaf blades which turn towards the tapered tips with fine retrorse white, short spines. The growth rate is very slow, so it will take 7-8 years to reach maturity. In sunlight the foliage is tinted yellowish. The original Portuguese word "barroco" meant "imperfect pearl". Reg.
